As Vice President of Life Sciences and Healthcare Americas since March 2017, Claudia Roa is responsible for sustaining profitable growth for DHL throughout the region. She drives business development strategies and implementation plans for customers in the Americas life sciences and healthcare sector. From a foundation of strong collaborative working relationships, she also develops effective and strategic interaction between top corporate customers in the region and every DPDHL business division.
Prior to this role, Claudia was head of CSI Latin America, managing DPDHL strategic customers with proven leadership and guidance. In every position held since joining the DPDHL network in 1989, Claudia has demonstrated strong team leadership and exemplary mentoring, and has developed and implemented a vast range of complex logistics solutions with excellent results. More importantly, she has managed profitable development of the divisions and established multi-tiered relationships between customers and DHL to secure long-term business partnerships and the solid achievement of corporate goals.
Her career started 27 years ago at AEI/Florcarga in Colombia where she held various key positions, including sales and operations management, and was managing director of the Free Trade Zone Distribution Center. DPDHL acquired AEI/Florcarga in 1998 and Claudia relocated from Colombia to the USA in 2003. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Javeriana of Bogota, Colombia. Claudia speaks Spanish, English and some Portuguese, and has two children.
